Zip Slip Awards for Second 9 Weeks
Round Lake/Brewster Schools rewarded many students who received no zip slips during the second nine weeks of school. The elementary and high schools have implemented the “Zero in Problems” program that encourages positive behavior every single day. Zip slips are given to students not demonstrating appropriate conduct. Positive school climates exist when students feel valued, accepted, safe, and interact with caring people they trust. The program provides clear expectations for student behavior, outlines specific methods and strategies to encourage positive social skills and details consequences and strategies to correct inappropriate conduct. It is the school’s goal to establish an environment that is more conducive to learning in order to improve student growth and achievement as well as school climate and culture. Congratulations to the 40 kindergarten through second grade students and the 43 third through sixth grade students who earned this award for the second nine weeks of our school year.
