Nobles County Parents Forever
May 07, 2008
Fewer than half of America’s children can expect to live out
their childhood with their biological parents, whether their
parents are divorced or never married. Research shows that on
average these children get sick more often, get in trouble more,
get lower grades at school and have more trouble making friends.
When parents cannot work constructively through custody, child
support and other difficult issues, the pain for both parents and
children endures for years. The Parents Forever program is designed
to help parents make decisions without putting their children in
the middle. Topics covered include: The Impact of Divorce on
Adults; The Impact of Divorce on Children; Money Issues; Legal
Issues; and Pathways to a New Life. This program will be offered in
English and Spanish now and again in the fall. It is co-sponsored
by Nobles County Integration Collaborative, University of Minnesota
Extension, and Community Education.
