Kindergarten Round-up and Transition Classes

Round Lake Brewster Schools will be having Kindergarten Round-up on May 5, 2008 form 6:30 - 8:00 p.m. This will be a time for children to spend some time in the kindergarten room and meet the kindergarten teacher. It will also be a time for parents to find out about the school and the kindergarten program.
Your child will need to be up-to-date on immunizations before starting kindergarten. Please fill in or update the immunization form and bring it with you. Also bring your child's birth certificate. We will verify your child's birth date and and you will take the birth certificate home.
The school will also be having Transition to Kindergarten Classes on May 12 and May 19, from 6:30 - 8:00 p.m. These classes are also for children and parents. They will give the children more time in the kindergarten room and the parents will have time to meet as a group and discuss parenting issues involved with children starting school.
All three evenings will start in the kindergarten room with the students and parents doing activities together. The parents will then go to the library to learn about and discuss various school issues, while the students stay and do more activities in the kindergarten room. If you can only attend one evening, please attend May 5. However, all three evenings will give your child a chance to "be comfortable" in the kindergarten room and you will have a chance to meet and get to know some of the parents of the children your child will be going to school with.
Sibling care will also be provided during all three evenings.
