Smoke-Free and Kick Butt Program
April 04, 2008
PIP (Partners in Prevention) were busy at the elementary school this week educating students on the disadvantages of smoking. Everyone made a pledge regarding smoking by tracing their hand on a hall banner and writing their pledge in the outline. High school PIP students came to each classroom and showed pictures of the health effects of smoking Each class selected two students to demonstrate the face they thought represented the disgusting results of smoking. A school assembly at the end of the day voted for 2 students for the whole school. The PIP students also gave statistics and showed the various chemicals contained in cigarettes. The Kick Butt program strives to educate everyone on the dangers of tobacco and second hand smoke.
