February 22, 2008

Babies are capable of understanding language before they are able to speak. Learn to communicate simple concepts and ideas with your infant by using baby sign. A two-hour class to be held at Brewster Elementary, April 5, 2008, from 9:30 to11:30 a.m., will introduce you to the exciting new world of communication with your child. Benefits include decreased crying, enhanced self-esteem, communicating 16 months prior to talking and a potential increase of 10-12 IQ points. You will learn 60 key vocabulary words and watch an educational video showing baby signing. This class is valuable for parents, family members and childcare providers. (Class is structured for adults.) The instructor is Susan C. Hagel, MS, CTRS, who has taught Baby Sign Language for 6 years and Conversational American Sign Language for over 30 years.
